    Presented by Mike Nakielski -

This guy is as close to unbeatable, in the competition arena, as one can get. Thankfully, he's always willing to show us what he does best — waterfowl-flying waterfowl. Mike will focus on mounting the wings. Another world class competitor and judge sharing his knowledge. Fresh off an Ackley award at the World Show, I just don't know that you'll find anyone better!

    Q&A with WIDNR
    Presented by Andrew Lundin -

Once again, we ask that you email any questions for the WIDNR to Rick Lange (langer@mhtc.net). Two hours is not a lot of time, so we need to stay on track with our discussion, so, Jeff has agreed to "referee" this seminar, to cover productive questions. Due to time constraints, there will be no replay reviews, every call he makes will be correct. Don't be offended if we need to move along. Also, Officer Lundin told me that he'd TRY to be around during the day if you have a situation at your shop, that you need addressed on a more personal level.

  • 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
    Vendor Area Open
  • 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
    Fish Seminar
    Presented by Cole Cruickshank -

Our fish judge comes to us from NW Missouri, where he lives with his wife and kids and operates a full time shop and is also the current president of the MO Association. It's been awhile since we actually painted something, and we love that part, so Cole has agreed to share his painting techniques on a skin mount Largemouth Bass. There are always different paints and techniques surfacing, so it's nice to pick up on these from an active competitor and judge.

Presented by Yeska, Gonnering, and Rickey -

We're going to have 9 hands on participants setting antlers, eyes and ears on their deer. Everyone is welcome to watch, of course. These three guys are entertaining as well as knowledgeable, promising an action packed afternoon. We need to thank the sponsors for the supplies donated. Thank you Matuska Supply, Ohio Supply, Payer Eyes and Aves Studio for helping us to educate. Don't be afraid to check with Ron Grams, (715)766-3300, to see if any spots remain open to be one of the participants.

    Lifesize Mammal Seminar
Presented by Lance Van Dusen -

Lance also hales from NW Missouri, where he lives with his wife and kids and runs a full time shop. These days one can purchase a manikin with a matching base, which can be a time saver, but, what if you want a more custom look for your customer? This World Champion is going to discuss and show how to plan some alterations and match a base to the form to give a customized look to your mammal mounts.

    Presented by Laura Wolf -

I want to thank the Wolfs for helping with these activities the last couple of meetings. It's been a huge help! Could she be any nicer and could he be any...taller? If you're not familiar with string art, just google it and you'll see what's in store for you-really cool stuff! No need to bring supplies, but, call Laura, (715)566-1175, with a headcount, if you and your children plan to participate.

  • 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
    Bird Seminar
    Presented by Korey Alleman -

This world class competitor and judge drives all the way from Louisiana to be a part of our show. This year he will be discussing cast parts for waterfowl and actually cast a duck head for us. We thank him for joining us for a third year and his donations of guided duck hunts for our auctions, can we talk him into donating again...?

  • 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
    Whitetail Seminar
    Presented by Vincent Flemming -

Since we will have already covered a lot of anatomy in the Hands-on Seminar, Vincent has agreed to talk about cape preparations. We, often times, overlook the importance of a seemingly menial task as taking the time to prep our skins correctly. I like it when a seminar relates to all areas of taxidermy, so while Vincent will be working on a whitetail cape, the information will relate to other animals, even birds and fish — very important stuff here, taxidermy brothers and sisters, don't miss this World champ's Seminar.
